IED – Istituto Europeo di Design presents Mirror

Art, fashion and desing meet underwater.

Within the surreal setting of Paris Tropical Aquarium, IED – Istituto Europeo di Design presents Mirror, a multidisciplinary project that blurs the lines between the different creative fields.

The showcase aims to establish a dialogue between art, fashion and design centred on the theme of the water. The Ocean, its inhabitants and its features, inspired artists and designers to create sculptures, garments, multimedia installations and paintings that express their own perception of the underwater world. The works of Andrea Forges Davanzati, IED professor, and former student of designer Bruno Munari, and those of Alla Polozenko and Guido Rizzone, stand out among others. In this context, Andrea’s ACQUACCIAIO project uses light reflections to shape sea microorganisms magnified in their original sizes. BREATH by Alla Polozenko and Guido Rizzone is a multimedia installation which gives form and sound to the polymorphism of the water and its liquid breath. The artistic duo explores the strength and the powerof flux through the light effects on the water’s surface and the interactions between different liquids.

Mirror offers to visitors a surreal and totalizing underwater experience, while giving the opportunity to discover one of the most fascinating and still widely unknown cultural spots of the French capital.
