Exotic fantasies and everyday experiences inspire a precious zoo made of silver and rare gems.
With masterful curatorial expertise, Oitoemponto gallery combines Luiz Ferreira‘s eclectic jungle to unique pieces of furniture for AD Interieurs, the annual exhibition hosted by AD Magazine showcasing the finest talents in the interior design field. Oitoemponto recreated the elegant yet warm atmosphere of the living room of a contemporary collector and explorer, who’s always traveling with his mind while being grounded in reality. The pièce à vivre features a series of exclusive pieces by renowned designers form the 40’s and 70’s such as the long sofa designed by Adrian Pearsall, together with the latest Oitoemponto‘s designs and carefully selected artworks. Luiz Ferreira‘s Urban Zoo represents the core of the exhibition, serving also the solo embellishing element within the minimalist setting. In each piece one can sees the personality of the animal and Ferreira‘s intimate attachment to it. Turtles, ducks, lobsters, and swans in sterling silver add a pictoresque baroque touch to the essential decor, and pay homage the timeless value of old-school goldsmith techniques, which the Portuguese artisan and artist brought to a new level. A special lighting system allows to highlight or hide the animal sculptures, as such personal collections are not for everyone’s eyes.
