Devoted to old world craftsmanship and experimental treatments, A1923 infuses high-end footwear and apparel with a warm, artisanal, touch. For the upcoming Fall / Winter season, Simone Cecchetto, designer and maker behind the brand, widens his collection, paying particular attention to womenswear. Tactile suggestions bridge between the raw, unpolished, aesthetics that characterizes A1923‘s signature pieces and a new form of understated elegance, embodied by the minimalist dresses and reminiscent of Victorian jackets in double silk. Inspired by postcards and photographs from the past, the new styles of shoes have a nostalgic appeal while featuring Simone‘s latest achievement in terms of ergonomics and comfort. Renowned as a master colorist, Cecchetto developed a series of outstanding shades that range from deep aubergine to washed out blue, all obtained through a natural hand-dying process that emphasizes the unique texture of the primal materials. Small imperfections bears beauty: A1923‘s creations celebrate what’s known as wabi-sabi a Japanese philosophy of embracing natural irregularities, such as the scarring on leathers, the curved line of hand-stitched hems, or how the hide absorbs the dye in different ways.
