Geoffrey B Small – Spring / Summer 2014

Events cross time, surrounded by a mystic halo leaving a lowly subdued trace in memory.

Geoffrey B. Small keeps on exploring traditional sartorial techniques, taking suggestions from past ages remade in an elaborated way. Delicately nostalgic, the collection seems to look backwards in the years of Secession American war, to the raw elegancy of sudist families, to the pride of belonging to earth. Simple values eradicated in the depth of people’s mind, as in the art of planning, putting together and sewing clothes entirely by hand, which characterises from more than thirty years the creative process of Geoffrey B. Small. The clothes, cause morbid volumes and vaporous silhouettes, externalise a sense of relax, as in wearing them we would find home. An accurate research, including a wide range of natural and recycled fibres makes fabrics unique, keeping the folds of usage, jealously preserving the beauty of slowly decaying things.

Clothes are easily impressed by the past of those wearing them, capturing between yarns, memories of this impalpable time we pass together, commonly called life.
