J.W. Anderson – Fall / Winter 2016 – 2017

In a race, the quickest runner can never overtake the slowest…

In line with the famous Zeno’s paradoxes, J.W. Anderson faces the increasely fast-paced fashion cycle by choosing the snail as symbol par excellence of his Fall / Winter 2016 – 2017. Plastered on slinky satin ensembles and fur blousons, or lined up like athletic stripes on a dressy warm-up suit, the little creature is the leading caracter of Anderson‘s latest urban tale, which also featured Bambi and other vintage icons. Futuristic vampires in 90’s clubbing outfits and studded accessories imbue some underground vibes within the cartoonish fantasy, ultimately revealing J.W. Anderson playful sense of perversion. By pulling in multiple aesthetic notions, mixing them up, and pumping them out in unexpected scenarios, Anderson‘s work was, once again, quintessentially experimental.
