Lemaire – Fall / Winter 2016

Elegant, timeless, subtle.

Far from the madding fashion crowd, Christophe Lemaire and Sarah-Linh Tran keep on redefining the codes of luxury dailywear with a powerful mix of simplicity and conscious experimentation. Rooted in reality rather than in the pages of a glossy magazine, the garments meet the taste of a refined kind of woman who plays with sensuality while performing absolute self-containment. This attitude was wonderfully adopted by the models that glanced at the audience as they made their way down the curving runway of the École de Médecine. Lemaire‘s minimalist appeal features a certain artistic twist that never make it bland or boring. Season after season, developements are subtle. Patterns and fitting are always on focus, this time with a special emphasis on sleeves, shoulders and necklines. Silhouettes were tight to the upper body, while more loose at the bottom. Knitwear and mannish suiting expressed a clear new confidence in terms of style and identity.
