Lucio Vanotti – Fall / Winter 2016

Lucio Vanotti‘s quest for minimalim leads him to essential designs filled with spiritual beauty.

His fall 2016 collection, presented in Giorgio Armani‘s theatre, felt like a clan state, expressed through tailored precise silhouettes that bridged a gap between pure structure and organic envelopment. At times philospher, at times ascetic soldier, Lucio Vanotti‘s man is a contemplative character who’s always looking for a certain depth of meaning behind things, in life as well as in clothing. Asymmetric closures simply drawn shut with a length of ribbon and rounded cuts expressed an ideal of relaxed strictness and a fascination with modular shapes. Inspired by the Bauhaus school, the color palette was restricted to few natural tones such as ecru and military green that enhance the fine choice of natural fabrics. With his simple yet exquisitely elegant designs, Lucio Vanotti recreated a bit of distance, a sense of mystery, in an obvious, overcrowded world.
