Ludovica Amati uncovers the mysteries of conscious awareness through fashion.
An intimate thought turns into a story that inspires the garments, which the Italian designer conceives as concrete symbols of her very own creative spirit. Ludovica imbues secrets and emotions into her clothing, which speaks to the wearer’s soul through the silent poetry of textures and cuts. Clothes are not utilitarian objects, but creative suggestions for other forms of art. This belief was wonderfully expressed in Trabaho de Concetraçao, Ludovica Amati’s performance that took place in Paris during the March edition of Fashion Week. The actress and muse Asia Argento brought to life Amati’s Fall – Winter 2015/2016 collection with a play focused on the practice of healing. Assisted by Emma de Caunes, she celebrated a mystical ritual that draws on the transcendental knowledge of self-purification. Wrapped in clouds of incense, the models danced and chanted, acting as if a primitive sorority bound them together. The ceremony paid homage to the sacred and ancestral power of femininity, skillfully reflected into Ludovica Amati’s fashion. Spectators were invited to leave their prejudices and rational thoughts in order to step into a different dimension, overcoming the emptiness of conventional appearances.
