Obscur – Övergång Fall/Winter 2013-2014

Transitional state means ongoing evolution, a breaking where no safe shores survived. Like a storm it grows hidden in a cloud, it molds, evolves and crashes in silence to collect his impetuous tide, reaching the non-return point of an unexpected, defined new entity.

The evolution Richard Söderberg has moved through confidently led him to enlighten on a new level, involuting his thoughtful works into a new form of tailored centred pieces.

His lack of safe roots, being his work subtly directional and no mere consequential case-state brought him to a rupture process base to the momentous evolutions beforehand. The open danger resides in his creations, held in the hands of the carefulness that the slow, collected ideating process has brought forward. To defeat time in the actual manifestation of what we are and what we choose to wear is a process possibly achievable only in a profoundly personal, intimate atmosphere, that Obscur maintains in structuring the whole body of work around very few entities.

The tide of the storm changes imperishable, and dark clouds overlap in the blue sky of the horizon. The panorama mutates, slow and inexorable, in something deprived of ephemeral qualities, existent in itself, necessarily true.
