Raindrops by Charlotte Marcodini

Inspiration comes at night, when raindrops cover the front glass of a car in movement and reflect the thousand blinking lights of a city that never sleeps. This artificial sky of iridescent dots, about to fall apart at the first sharp turn, perfectly embodies the fleeting ideal of beauty and success that shapes today’s urban life. Photographer Charlotte Marcodini captures the brutal poetry of contemporary metropolis in a story inspired by Y’s by Yohji Yamamoto SS16 collection. The photographer creates an interesting contrast between the fragile grace of raindrops, glorious in their defiance of skyscrapers and construction sites, and the harshness of industrial materials, used to create a bare-bones setting. The uncommon beauty of Celine, strong and delicate at once, gives an unexpected and slightly uncanny appeal to the editorial, adding an exquisitely contemporary touch.
