Sacai Man – Autumn Winter 2015 /2016

Sacai Man infused some warm folklore into the mysterious atmosphere of Oratoire du Louvre in Paris.

The models were somehow surrounded by a magic aura, which created an interesting contrast with the playful mix of patterns and fabrics showcased by the Japanese brand. Renown for her unique understanding of form and silhouette, Sacai designer Chitose Abe brought further her experimentation with different textures and materials. Utilitarian garments and military-inspired pieces were paired with fringed chevron weave blankets and sheepskin jackets in Americana style. Unexpected elements such as sheering details appeared through the inventive layering, carefully studied to highlight the eclectic juxtaposition of textiles. The outstanding construction of the pieces suggested a new form of sophisticated comfort that falls somewhere between classic tailoring and sportswear. As for every collection, Chitose Abe developed custom-made fabrics, connecting tradition and innovation. While Sacai‘s womenswear line is globally recognized as one of the most interesting things currently happening in fashion, the more recent menswear is progressively breaking through the market, getting better and better season after season.
