Synthetic Dreams by Jessica De Maio

HOW MANY YEARS HAVE I BEEN SLEEPING? HOW MANY HOURS DID I THROW AWAY?
WHY DOES EVERYTHING FEEL SO UNNAMED?

The majesty of the mind is unleashed as we bare witness to the wonders of the inner world. Jessica De Maio portraits Alina H. trapped into a synthetic dream of pale illusions. All the outlines are blurred, covered by a thin plastic veil that divides this bubbled industrial fantasia from reality. Stylist Irene Lombardini plays with different textures, infusing into contemporary designs a certain royal elegance. Futuristic yet classic, the fashion forms a paradigm shift artfully taking a phantasmagorical trip, as shapes appear in languid lines pink glows and green shines. Make-up artist Karin Borromeo captures the dream’s allure with tender overplays and uncompromising beauty. Like a doll in a glassball, Alina dives between filmic fantasies and dizzy feelings, while De Maio invites us to experience a new way to see through her photographic magic.
